laughed Kim. And her husband smiled at her.
He kissed his wife with ardor, took her in his arms and brought her to the sleeping room. And when they made love it was like all the days and years before, since they had met: they seemed to fly together up in the seventh sky! Kim continued to accompany her husband to his exhibitions, some times she wrote articles for some riding-magazine or short stories about things, she was interested in. Her mother became more and more ill and was obliged to stay in the hospital. One day Kim had a telephone call from the hospital, that her mother has died during the night. Dan was organizing the opening of a new gallery and so she had to go alone for the funeral and the executor. Her mother's last will was to be laid to rest in Canada, Kim never knew, why. Her mother had decided, that Kim was the sole heir and Maude only got a little money for her own. Arden also had written, that Kim was the daughter of her mother's boss, who had paid a lot of money for the child. This was nothing new to Kim, but she wondered, that her mother at last admitted the fact. After the funeral, where she was the only relative, she took the plane back home, to be as soon as possible with her loved husband. While the small machine was flying high above the clouds, Kim thought, that from now on her mother had lost all influence on her and that the terrible nightmare never will come back. Happy and with a little smile on her face she let herself rock with the movement and became dozy.
But suddenly, in a terrible noise of broken metal, with a smell of burning plastic and flames everywhere, her nightmare became truth! And Kim, who thought a few moments before to be finally escaped from her mother's influence and suppression, became within a few seconds a severely handicapped person, who would depend for the rest of her life on others. And while she was projected out of the plane and lost consciousness, the last and terrible sequence of her nightmare became awful reality!
When she came back from past into present, she saw the warm, brown eyes of her husband swimming in tears, looking at her as never before. While she looked in his face, he began to smile to show her, how much he loves her and to give her hope.
A feeling of peace and happiness flow through Kim's pained body: Well, she won't give up! Not as long as Dan will stay at her side! Together they will build a new life! With the help of her husband she will be able to pass through all difficulties! With her energy and the love of Dan she will try to live her life as normal as possible. With all the new possibilities in medical aid she will be able to ride again, to make the housework and to do a lot of other things. Sure, there will come days with pain and setbacks, but again
she will show to herself and to the whole world, that all could be possible – when we love and know that we are loved!
